We’re so pleased to bring you a generations-old recipe that’s a firm favourite in the family and which was passed down by Jackie’s Mum, Granny Edna. This delicious bread is still made by her daughters today and puts in an appearance at nearly every family gathering!

Ingredients:

14oz whole meal

2 oz plain flour

1 tsp salt

2 tsp baking soda

1 tbsp caster sugar

1 tbsp rapeseed/veg oil

750 - 800g Yester Farm Dairies Natural Yoghurt (use Greek Style, Whole Milk Natural or Low Fat)

Mixed Seeds (optional)

Method:

  • Mix together with a fork and spoon to achieve a thick, porridge-like consistency.

  • Pour into 2 x 2lb lined loaf tins..

  • Decorate with seeds (optional).

  • Cook for 30-35 minutes at 200 degrees.

Enjoy with our tasty Luxury Soft Cheese and smoked salmon, or a dollop of honey. Truly delicious!
